Petitioning The Harbors Division of the State of Hawai‘i

Save the Falls of Clyde

Who is up for a challenge? Friends of Falls of Clyde is trying to convince the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, Harbors Division that having a National Historic Landmark ship in Honolulu Harbor that is a symbol of the rich maritime history of Hawaii is worth saving. Ships in worse condition than Falls of Clyde have been restored and have served their communities as museums and venues for events that have brought pride to the residents. We have a long history of our folks having had memorable experiences aboard the ship, either as students learning about being a sailor or as adults celebrating a wedding or birthday or as organizations holding a special event. Memories are roots that keep an important link to these experiences.

We are asking people who support the mission of Friends of Falls of Clyde to sign this petition and show Harbors Division that Falls of Clyde has meaning and a place in our community and in Honolulu Harbor.

I believe that Falls of Clyde is an important part of Hawaii’s maritime history and its restoration should be supported by the State of Hawaii.
