Dearest Friends,
It is with great sadness that I am writing to you today.
Last night, Myrtle passed away peacefully in her home at the proud age of 99, cared for by her loving daughter Mary. It is devastating news and Mary is absolutely heart-broken.
What gives me consolation is that over all the last years of hardship and victories (to enable her to stay and in the end receive vital support to prevent destitution), Mary and Myrtle were never alone. They had YOU, a whole community of loving individuals, who kept them close to their hearts, who supported them and lifted them out of the hardships they were facing.
You helped them win against the "hostile environment", against removal to South Africa, against innumerable delays and against beaurocracy that failed to take into account real human need.
This support and love always meant the world to Mary and Myrtle. Even in this time of grief and loss, Mary wanted to be sure that I thank everyone who supported her beautiful mother.
You always have been Myrtle's guardian angels and she was bleesed to have you in her life and on her side!
I am sure that in this difficult time, if you wanted to send Mary a condolence card, that would be greatly appreciated (to 1 Douglas Gardens, POOLE, Dorset, BH12 2AG).
Once again, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts to this most amazing community of amazing individuals! We cannot say THANK YOU enough!
Rest in peace, beautiful angel Myrtle.
Kindest regards,
Mary (Myrtle's daughter) and Jan (Myrtle's barrister)
