Hello, you 2000 beautiful people who have taken the time to protest against this abuse of wealth & privilege as a public school makes a killing selling greenbelt whilst sending thousands of cars a day through our council estate.

Don’t believe what the newspapers tell you; you still have time to object to the ‘Woollam Park’ development.  Send your objection to

email: planningcomments@stalbans.gov.uk

If you are not sure how to complain I will outline the four major issues and concentrate on one each night for the next four days.

The issues on which the development should fail are

  • flooding
    green belt
    heartwood
    highways

    Taking HIGHWAYS first:-

a recent signatory Jonathan wrote
‘They have not thought about infrastructure and the amount our roadways are already full! They can't force people to cycle or walk yet that is what their plan says will mitigate traffic.  they think most of these new households will cycle, in their dreams!’

I have cycled the routes and made three films and Jonathan is right. No casual cyclist is going to use the dangerous ways they suggest.  The routes they propose were not created by anyone who knows St Albans.  Please see for yourselves by using the link at the end of this message. The trip to the station is particularly bonkers missing the Green ring and giving you some horrid right turns.

You might write

’Objection to Application 5/2024/2271 Woollam Park’

I object to the Woollam Park development on the grounds that there are no safe active transport routes for cyclists.  The routes proposed are too dangerous.’  Add your name and that’s it!

Please email your objection based on one of those four issues as soon as you can to email: planningcomments@stalbans.gov.uk

thank you,

Damian
