Hi Everyone, What an amazing rollercoaster the last week has been ! From something I started during last Wednesday's episode with the honest expectation of a few hundred signatures at best, it really feels like Australia has responded, with over 123,000 of you standing up for what's right, and standing with Domenica. Go you, and THANK YOU !!!
This issue and our petition has been mentioned in multiple news publications and podcasts both here and overseas, and we received a response from the eSafety commisioner's office early on. I guess this shows you the effect people acting together can have. I'm happy to report that although the eSafety commisioner indicated they could not act without a direct approach by Domenica, NSW Police have now officially advised (according to reliable news sources) that they have commenced an investigation into the matter, after Dom obtained legal advice.
As such, I feel it's time to wind this petition up, and let the aforementioned process take its course, and allow the police to do their job. We've effectively achieved what we set out to do in a week, and I'm very humbled and proud to have played a small part in this, and in getting these conversations going with all of you.
I'll finish up with the response I received from Dom this morning, where she wanted me to also thank all of you, and said "what an incredible response I honestly cannot believe it!!!!! Very humbled and feel the love from the community that's for sure".
Thanks everyone, I think we "done good" !
P.S. Don't let your activism stop here. Change.org has a lot of other great petitions, about a lot of other important issues. Why not have a browse, and see what else resonates with you, that would be worth adding your voice to ? Just a thought ...
