Let me share a great news! As a follow up of our representation to the Drug Controller General of India last week the Hon'ble DCGI has issued a directive to all the state drug controllers to maintain strict vigil about the 'burning issue of topical steroid abuse'. He has directed the state drug controllers to take appropriate action under the provision of Drugs and Magic Remedies Act (Objectionable Advertisements ), Drug and Cosmetics Act and rules made there under. This was forwarded to me by Dr. Rashmi Sarkar our IADVL Secretary General. Kudos to all ITATSIANS who were involved in the meeting. Dr. Shyam Verma, Dr. Binod Khaitan and Somesh Gupta, great job! I sincerely appreciate the proactive role of Venkataram Mysore and Dr.Rashmi Sarkar. And Abir Saraswat as the convenor who played a pivotal role in these meetings. I remember the visionary role played by our immediate past President Dr. Deepak Parikh in creating this task force. I guess, all the states now should meet the state drug controllers with this letter in hand. Really appreciate the role played by the Govt. Liaison cell Dr. Vijay Garg The ball has started rolling.
