On 24th April 2015 we had three vital meetings in Delhi with some important govt officials for appraising them and sensitizing them about astronomical magnitude of the silent and horrific menace of topical steroid abuse in India. The first meeting was with the Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Dr. VK Subburaj Dr. Venkatram Mysore, President IADVL, Dr. Rashmi Sarkar, Secretary General IADVL, Dr. V K Gag, Chairperson Vovt Liasison Cell and Dr. Abir Saraswat, Convenor ITATSA was there.. There were two subsequent meetings with Joint Drug Controller General of India, Dr. S Eswara Reddy and the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Jagdish Prasad. IADVL President Dr. Venkataram Mysore, Hon. Heneral Secretary Dr. Rashmi Sarkar were there with us in these meetings along with OPPI executives. As the chairperson me and convener of the Taskforce against topical steroid abuse (ITATSA ) Dr. Abir Saraswat was there. A detailed presentation was made in front of these Executives explaining the nature and magnitude of the menace and our demands were put forth A comprehensive dossier of all important literature on this subject from India, both in journals and lay press was handed over to all three officials for detailed perusal and action. All three gentlemen gave us a patient hearing and were very supportive of our efforts. They additionally assured us of all help in this regard. On 27 April 2015 ITATSA Coordinator Dr. Shyam Verma, IADVL Govt Liasion cell convenor Dr. Binod Khaitan and Hony. Treasurer Dr. Somesh Gupta met the Drug Controller General of Indian Dr. G. N. Sing. They presented before him and handed him over the dossier.
