Unsuccessful with tender
NOT SUCCESSFUL IN THE TENDER
Many local Councillors told me to go for the tender as I have so much support from current members. Unfortunately yesterday we heard that we were not successful though.
In 2020 when I told the WDC committee meeting that because of the Commonwealth Games in 2022 I would be left with only 2 courts, no members and no guaranteed future at VP, Tory Councillor Moira-Ann Grainger said "I should enjoy the challenge of the tender." Unsurprisingly, I haven't.
WDC claim this is about sustainability but we were the first to suggest a sinking fund in 2016 and the first to offer £20000 for new courts in 2020. We also secured a further £20000 from AC Lloyd. This was rejected.
Thank you to everyone who has continued their support, even in recent weeks with this fantastic drone protest! I will really miss the community spirit we had for the past ten years.
