Dear supporters.
Now is the time to send a message to decision makers. An appeal justifying the termination of the Nest Predator Bounty Program was sent to the Governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem and to each member of the Game, Fish & Park Commission this weekend. Also, I updated the petition on change.org platform and added references to scientific research in peer-reviewed journals and media publications so as not to be unfounded.
I refer to your signatures in the petition, but actually currently only my voice is on the table. For those of you who want to make a bigger impact and have 2 minutes for this, please, send a message directly to decision makers. The members of the Game Fish & Park Commission are not elected by the community, but appointed by the governor, so they do not feel responsible to the residents. Therefore, it is important to send a message also to the governor, who de-facto makes decisions.
You can use my statement(s) at your discretion, copying either from the petition or from the appeal, or you can write it in your own words, or even simply type: ”I vote against Nest Predator Bounty Program. I call for NPBP to be discontinued in 2024 due to its cruelty, no evidence of its effectiveness, lack of support from professionals, pointless waste of money, corruption and lack of scientific basis”. It does not matter. What matters is the number of votes on the governor's and GFP commission's table cast against NPBP.
A message to GFP Commission can be sent via Email the GFP Commission or via the Submit Public Comment form - either options will have the same effect. A message to the Governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem can be sent through the Send an Email to the Governor form.
The next meeting of the South Dakota Fish and Parks Commission will be held on December 5, 2024. They already received my appeal, so if you add your voice to mine, it will be harder to ignore.
