Now that we have had time to reflect on the outcome of the Battle of Hastings in 1066 it is clear that the nation did not know what it was getting itself into when it went into battle. Now that we are armed with all the facts it should be put back to the nation to decide if they want to retrospectively withdraw from the agreement to go into this famous conflict.
