Today is my first Father’s Day without him🥹
There’s an ache in my chest that no card, no post, no gesture can ease — because this year, I can’t tell him how much I love him, how proud I am of him, or how deeply I miss him… not in person, anyway.
My dad, Sgt. Richard Andrew Conn, was everything to me — a veteran, a protector, and the quiet backbone to my family. He didn’t talk much about what he saw or what he carried, but he didn’t have to. I felt it. I learned from it. And now I carry it.
He passed away NINE MONTHS AGO due to systemic medical failures that should have never happened — failures I’m now fighting to expose and change through my campaign.
But TODAY isn’t about the VA. It’s about him.
It’s about the man who taught me loyalty without words. Who showed me strength without bragging. Who fought through pain with more grace than most people live their whole lives with.
And who left behind a legacy that can’t be silenced.
So this Father’s Day… I’ll cry. I’ll smile. I’ll remember.
And I’ll keep going — because that’s what he would’ve done.
Happy first heavenly Father’s Day, Dad. You’re still the strongest man I know.
And I’ll always love and advocate for you forever.
🖤
