Daryld “Gil” Gilbertson; embellishing Sheriff in Oregon <- This link gives you the rundown. It has come to light in recent days the outgoing sheriff for Josephine County, Oregon wears and has worn the Master Explosive Ordinance Disposal badge on his uniform, claiming he earned this badge by "certifying in class B-7-85 at Redstone in Huntsville Alabama through a certified bomb technician school offered by the FBI/Army" The certificate provided by Gil shows he graduated from this 4 week "hazardous devices course" which is the minimum requirement for a civilian bomb squad team member. The Master Explosive Ordinance Disposal badge is only awarded after 7–15 years of service in a EOD senior supervisory position in the Armed Forces. This prestigous badge is awarded after a minimum of 8 years EOD tech, posess the training, experience and knowledge to train and supervise others in explosives handling, pass annual certifications, and you must have previously qualified for basic and senior EOD badge. Therefore, the Veteran community, along with Patriots everywhere respectfully ask the Commissioners that any image of the Sheriff in uniform be displayed without the badge and that any biographical sketch or literature be void of mention of this badge.
