No matter how poor they are, international students still have to pay $90 to take the SAT -- 36% of the yearly income for the average Malawian family. That's like telling an American family living on $25,000 per year that they have to cough up $9000 for the SAT!

To the College Board: There are already so many obstacles standing between deserving but poor students and American universities. Why add another one? On your website, you claim to be "a mission-driven not-for-profit organization that connects students to college success and opportunity." But denying these students the opportunity to take the SAT runs counter to that goal. How much do you really stand to lose by letting a handful of kids per year take this test for free? Please offer fee waivers to ALL poor students, regardless of nationality.
