MnDOT is officially seeking feedback on the future of the 5th Avenue overpass in Duluth. If they decide to rebuild this overpass, downtown Duluth will be locked into 50+ more years of being split up by I-35. 

Choosing to invest in keeping this bridge (and by proxy, I-35) is a choice against revitalizing our downtown, against promoting a healthy local economy, against cleaner air and water, against investing in more equitable transportation options, and against the health and safety of the people who live and work nearby. Most importantly, choosing to keep I-35 is a choice against creating a unified downtown waterfront that represents the ideals and aspirations of the community.
