Sikhs live all over the world and have made many significant contributions to the society. The rejection of rituals while performing actions for greater goods are important to the Sikh faith. Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the first Guru and founder of Sikhism. Guru Nanak Dev Ji promoted all human beings as one, and they are all above discrimination. Guru Nanak Dev Ji spread the message of real love for all of the humanity. Guru Nanak Dev Ji did not start a new religion (Sikhism), instead Sikhism is free of any rituals and it is a path of living a simple and pure human life. To be a Sikh means to be a life- long learner. Additionally, the values that Sikhism espouses are in fact Canadian values which would further exemplify our commitment to diversity and equality. Therefore, to recognize and remind humanity about the contribution of Guru Nanak Dev's message to the world. We appeal that the City of Calgary approves the naming subdivision of Cell D in Saddleridge NE. Naming this division after Guru Nanak Dev Ji's name would leave a huge mark in the world community. it would be the first time in history that a community will have been named after Sikhism founder. The credit will go to the City of Calgary and all the supporters.
