I would like to ask for support with my petition that would stop the selling of fireworks to the general public. There are many reasons as to why I would like to see this happen. Firstly, for people suffering with mental health problems, whether it be suffering from Anxiety, PTSD or any other mental illness. The loud and frightening bangs that the fireworks make can trigger panic attacks and also traumatic past experiences. Secondly, if that wasn't bad enough, animals are just as, if not more traumatized by fireworks as they do not understand them. The sudden loud bangs and bright lights can terrify an animal into stress, disorder and panic. I have experienced anxiety for a number of years and this is one of the reasons as to why I would like this to see this stopped. I think if this was to be stopped then it would stop fireworks being inflicted on people and innocent animals.. My final point to make is the danger and misuse of fireworks. 'The majority of firework-related injuries happen at family or private parties'. The NHS website has a large amount of interesting and eye opening statistics about fireworks that I think we could all learn a lot from.
