Recognise the work of your employees and improve the offer!

The issue

Staff in Victoria have been negotiating an Agreement with the Australian Red Cross Blood Service for their wages and conditions since March of this year. This includes employees who are involved in the processing and distributing of blood to hospitals and other health services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Items staff are asking for include a weekend – a guarantee of two days off in a row unless mutually agreed, the ability for the independent umpire Fair Work Commission to arbitrate a dispute if needed, and a fair wage increase in line with the average of the sector.

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service however is unreasonably refusing to agree.  As a last resort, employees are now taking Protected Industrial Action in support of their claims.

We need your support.  We need you to tell the Executive and Board of the Australian Red Cross Blood Service to recognise the important work these employees perform by agreeing to the changes proposed.

Tell the Australian Red Cross Blood Service that staff deserve better!
