THIS IS A TRUE STORY On a single pension Ms X was looking for a cheaper housing option when DHHS contacted her and asked if she would have 4 grand kiddies, she said no to four but yes to the two that are her biological grand babies. x weeks old and xx mths old. Not having found accommodation yet, dhhs gave her the x week old and put her up in a motel, 2 days later they rang and said the moneys not available so moved her to a pub that had rooms. 2 days later they rang and said NO money left this will be the last night. "What am I meant to do she asked?" "I dont know but its not my problem" she was told. So dhhs have given her a baby and effectively made her homeless as they have removed the accommodation! But wait there's more...... dhhs wont give her the xx mth old UNTIL she has found accommodation! WTF???? The 6 week old is an ice baby, spent 2 weeks in hospital being drip fed and 3 weeks in fetal position before he could straighten out and there are no records of him being listed as an ice baby, even though mum admitted (due to complications at birth) that she used ice all through the pregnancy. Unsettled, screaming etc etc and dhhs have dropped and ran (or as good as, they are still in touch but providing wrong and useless information)..............again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
