This Grandparent carer is doing an amazing job raising 2 grand children who would have been statistics in foster care had she not stepped in. Due to receiving no 'reimbursements' and funding her own legal aid of $75,000 she is struggling to maintain her financial liabilities and has had to start a Gofundme page to try and save the family car. Other Grandparent carers are facing the same situation, no car and many trips to Doctors, schools and sporting activities, things we all take for granted. Many think the Government pay us handsomely for raising our national treasures, well think again, they do not.
