With the airing of the Four Corners program about residential care we have at last a few media outlets wanting to hear from us. We need to pick up the momentum and continue to push toward change. As it is Grandparent/kinship carers are neither valued nor respected by the government nor their agencies. We have stepped up when others have stepped away and are in desperate need of support and recognition. With cut backs on mental health and the drug addictions growing every day, there are more and more of us caring for our most precious resource, the future generation. Please continue to share and support us in our petition to obtain a fair and equitable system for all carers, whether court ordered or not, caring is caring, we all do the same job [provide a safe and nurturing environment for our littlies] we should all receive the same support and services.
