Because consumers should not have their right to chose not to support religious practices or ideology denied them through lack of clear labeling. Consumers should not be made to pay for Halal Certification which they may not endorse. Since Halal food practices endorse the ideology of Islam, non Muslims may be compromising their own religious integrity by consuming Halal products, especially meat slaughtered by Halal methods.
