Your MP has a big question to consider over the coming weeks: whether to level down your democracy via the Elections Bill.

Remember, if you live in England or Wales, this is the bill which would make you use First Past the Post whenever you vote for mayors or Police and Crime Commissioners.

We're organising a rally in Parliament Square to oppose this downgrade.

The rally is currently scheduled for Saturday 5 February. That's in four weeks’ time, though we'll keep an eye on the Covid situation to make sure that we can safely go ahead on that date.

The bigger this protest, the stronger a message we can send to those in power: we need less First Past the Post, not more! Can you make this protest as big as possible by donating to the crowdfunder?

Have you ever heard someone try to claim that "nobody cares about electoral reform"? This rally is our answer! Yes, I care about unequal votes, and I'm willing to protest outside Parliament to prove it!

In particular, Leader of the Opposition Keir Starmer will be watching carefully. He knows that Proportional Representation was a hot topic of conversation at his party's Conference.

He knows that over 80% of his party's members support PR. And he knows that his party is the only major opposition party in Great Britain which hasn't yet backed equal votes.

Starmer has said warm words about electoral reform in the past. But he'll hold back now if he thinks that voters don't care about democratic inequality.

An empty Parliament Square would affirm this belief. A large and loud rally will tell him the opposite.
