Make Votes Matter is ramping up its work to win Proportional Representation in years, not decades. With British politics in a state of emergency there has never been a more urgent need or a better opportunity to make this happen.
In order to succeed, we need to grow both our staff team and our movement of key volunteers - and make sure we’re all working together to put in place the conditions needed to win fair votes.

In March, we’re holding two movement building days called “How to win PR” in Harrogate (9th March) and Bristol (16th March). Experienced activists and new supporters alike are welcome - as long as you are committed to winning real democracy.
These days are about training up key volunteers from across the UK who can move the campaign forward. During the day you will discover MVM’s strategy for achieving Proportional Representation and find out how you can make a vital contribution to it. You will take part in several training and skill-sharing sessions to fully prepare you to be a part of the movement. And we’ll hear from some inspiring speakers and all get to know other people who are determined to win fair votes.

We’re also looking to recruit new members into our staff team. These positions will each play a crucial role: from building the grassroots movement, to growing the MVM Alliance, to mobilising support in the Labour Party, to delivering our fundraising strategy.

The UK will not be a true democracy until we scrap First Past the Post and bring in a voting system in which seats match votes and all votes count equally. We're excited about what the future of this movement holds and look forward to working with you to bring about this vital change.
