Each speaker will discuss their organisations’ campaigns for national and local electoral reform, Lords reform and more equal gender representation in the Houses of Parliament before leading discussion groups in how attendees feel their campaigns can best be advanced.
This event is being organised by Unlock Democracy Birmingham in conjunction with the West Midlands Politics of Networks. Activists involved in the Politics of Networks have recently been devising a set of Core Beliefs: 10 principles that a movement should follow, including the following: “Democracy gives us all a say and should be the basis for all public decision-making.” This Core Belief will also be debated as part of the Electoral Reform Special: group discussions will consider how we could add to this principle.
