What are the reasons and solutions going forward for Thazhambur area floods.

1. Urban lakes from Vandalur till Thazhambur should be emptied BEFORE the onset of a cyclone NOT Monsoon.
2. A canal-bridge on OMR road at Sangeetha (Geetham) Hotel, to carry excess storm water, flowing above concrete channels to Buckingham canal. This is a 1x spending for a 10x problem
3. Study should be done on the Tidal influence in cyclone times, on the outflow of storm water into sea. Solution and its implementation of it to be taken up.
4. "Store and Overflow" method, proposed by IIT Madras, PWD and Thirupugazh committee, which is arcane, traditional and stupid idea for current requirements of cyclonic activity to be shelved and look for "Out of the Box" solutions.
5. Breaching of lakes upstream was done purposely by Officials concerned. Action to be taken and should not be resorted in future.
