Oak Bay's Mayor Kevin Murdoch Announces that he Intends for the UVIC Dog Park to be Built on.

Hello all,

Tonight at the "Housing in Oak Bay: Where do we go from here?" event featuring Oak Bay Mayor Kevin Murdoch, Saanich Councillor Zac De Vries, the NDP Housing Minister Ravi Kahlon, Virginia Holden of the Greater Victoria Housing Society and NDP MLA Murray Rankin; Mayor Kevin Murdoch announced that he intends for the former UVic dog park, which covers 40 so acres of greenspace to have massive construction on it for housing.

If this takes place, the greenspace we've all known and loved will be gone forever.

UVic and Saanich only within the last month removed dozens of trees combined, mostly in the area along Sinclair Rd, but also by the engineering department building.

The added population intensity, will cause even more issues with lack of spaces for dogs and other animals to roam freely and will intensify an already intense position that pits residents against residents, while the politicians get away with doing whatever they want.

Please tell these politicians who prefer never-ending construction to much needed green space where animals could previously roam freely, no we do not want this for our future. 

Bring back the UVic dog park, before it's too late!  Their construction agenda is not worth a declining quality of life, nor the health and quality of life of our pets.
