Hi Texas Technology for All Supporters,
Thank you for your continued support in helping Austin Urban Technology Movement (AUTM) eliminate the digital divide across Texas.
Because of your signatures, social media posts, and shout outs, we have secured over 1400 supporters, connected with the members of Operation Connectivity, and joined the Re-Opening of Central Texas Taskforce focusing on digital equity and workforce development in tech.
We also donated 139 computers that were given to three organizations (Austin Free-Net, American Youthworks, and Todo Juntos Learning Center), families in Austin Independent School District and Del Valle Independent School District. We were also recently featured on Spectrum News - you can view the video and article here.
Regarding broadband connectivity, we are working on a proposal with the city of Austin around internet access as a public utility vs. a private public partnership. Once our proposal is finalized, the next step is to launch our pilot proposal and expand to other cities in Texas.
Please continue to share our petition daily to help us reach our goal of 1 million signatures. This is a relay, not a solo race, and we need your help to break the status quo!
Cheers,
AUTM Team
