In the state of Texas, many subdivisions are being built outside of city limits. Each year, the county sheriff's department are overwhlemed by the 911 calls that come into their dispatch sytem during the Fourth of July and New Year's Eve. The danger the fireworks impose on citizens in the communities is another reason to address the county ordinance regarding fireworks. Also, the noise nuisance could be a bother for many residents living in the communities. We need to make a change. An ordinance needs to be in place that addresses the homes that are less than an acre. Fireworks should not be set off in subdivisions where the homes are less than an acre apart. Police should have the authority to enforce an ordinance that protects the homes and citizens of a communtiy. Homeowners and law officials should no longer feel helpless.
