Good Evening...

The government give with one hand and take with the other when it comes to testing frontline care workers!

Whilst many care home staff are receiving weekly testing, which is due to be increased to twice weekly by the end of December, those care workers working is Extra Care and Supported Living Services are not entitled to the same support and are only entitled to four weeks of testing before being left not knowing if they are carrying the virus asymptomatically.

The Department of Health and Social Care has today confirmed that they will extend the testing for these care staff for another four weeks however these staff deserve more. As a frontline care worker myself, I know first hand the impact anxiety of working alongside the virus can have and how much is affects both your working role and personal life.

I urge you all to continue your hard work and to share this update or the main campaign with the following tweet: @DHSCgovuk @MattHancock @BorisJohnson whilst it is great you are extending weekly testing to staff in Extra Care and Support Living Services, they deserve more of a commitment! Where is the longterm weekly testing? Find out more here: http://chng.it/Hb5qfNGX via @UKChange @ukhca

Feel free to make up your own tweet or awareness piece, however if you are on twitter, please ensure you copy in @ukhca as they are the biggest association for homecare providers

Keep up the hard work!
