Tesco head office have made the decision that all food bank donations will be given to the Trussell Trust and Fareshare. These organisations are large groups who charge membership fees to food banks. Local independent food banks like Kilsyth Community Food Bank are losing donations that have been donated in store by members of our local community to help families in crisis. We previously received all donation in our local store and we relied on them to provide our life line to the community. This decision must be reversed to ensure local donations reach the people they are intended for.
