Board of Medicine having meeting May 15th

The Board of Medicine of Virginia is having a meeting on may 15th to discuss these regulations. I am happy they are reconsidering are make it appear like they are. May 15th will be 2 months after they enacted the regulations 12 days before the bill was to become law. This has already effected a ton of patients and some were lucky enough to find treatment in other places, while some are still suffering. I have kept in touch with organizations, and other patients I have met through facebook. It is sad these patients that were doing well had treatment ripped right out from under them. I hope none of them have overdosed, went to jail, or lost anything else. 2 months is long time and some patients were lucky enough to get a month prescription right before it hit so it would have been one month to them. Hopefully they will look at the research and give these patients their treatment back, and offer them a hand with getting back into treatment since they took it in the first place. None of the doctors seen this coming even know the bill has been in the works for a year or 2, but no one seen them kicking patients that have a documented allergy to Naloxone. Hopefully they can come to the decision and make things right. Regulations on prescriptions are fine, but they need to also allow the otps to dispense it in take homes also. Whoever wrote the bill didn't write it with good intentions as he didn't include the Board of Medication up until the very last minute. Delegate Pillion is a dentist, and is supposedly a recovering addict. I don't know if I believe that because any recovering addict would know this bill would do more harm than good especially with the intentions of not including people that have an allergy to Naloxone, or when the Naloxone gives people massive headaches, rashes, and all the other symptoms. Buprenorphine does everything that Bupe/Nal does.
