200 Milestone hit! Thanks for the support, but time fight continues

We are now at 227 signatures, and it wouldn't have been possible without you guys. I will continue to advocate for these patients, and fight for their right to treatment. I'll continue to share it in other places and try to get more signatures. I have remained in contact with nation organizations on your behalf, and I have also written the Virginia Attorney General. I have also contacted news stations, and outlets across the internet to try and get coverage. This is very important that these patients don't lose their treatment. The petition doesn't ask for something impossible all it asks for is if the restrictions are put into place to please allow people with a documented allergy on file to continue getting a prescription, and to also allow the federally licensed otp's to continue to use it to treat patients and dispense take homes. The problem with the federally licensed opiate treatment programs is if they switch medications it will cost patients around 150 to 200 more dollars than it does currently. This will make treatment unaffordable in rural areas. These patients that don't live in a city cannot afford to lose treatment because these politicians are misinformed on the medications that are being used. Mayor Giuliani tried to abolish methadone years ago, couldn't do it so he stopped Medicaid from paying for it in new york. This had a disastrous result people lost treatment, it ripped families apart, sent addicts back to the streets, and caused deaths that shouldn't have happened. He later apologized for it, but it was too late. The damage was already done, and we should never go that route again.
