UPDATE---Dean recently received a letter with their decision. They denied his clemency. However, we are not going to give up because the clemency was filed BEFORE we even knew about the cancer. Therefore, their decision did not take into consideration the terminal cancer diagnosis which is a huge part of our current petition.
Therefore, we are going to appeal the decision based off their Executive Clemency Advisory Board Application Eligibility Criteria Commutation of Sentence document, item #5 Waiver of Criteria stating, “The Governor and/or Executive Clemency Advisory Board may grant a waiver of these criteria for any reason, including but not limited to... Catastrophic medical and/or mental health issues.”
Our request now for the petition is that the Clemency Advisory Board to review the new information regarding my terminal cancer diagnosis, additional programs he had completed during the 2-year period and his continued good behavior/no write up’s.
We are asking for your continued support by sharing this petition so we can get more signatures and add it to our appeal/reconsideration packet.
