CMCSS has a 7-point grade scale and it has it's benefits but some students struggle with it. I think this is also one of the things preventing CMCSS from achieving 100% graduation rate.
Solution
This problem can be solved with a 10 point grading scale being approved and used by CMCSS on all levels.
Personal story
My name is Trey Boykin and I have been with CMCSS for Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 7th Grade, half of 8th Grade, 10th Grade , and currently 11th. I have dealt with this 7 point grade scale for many years and I moved my 8th grade year to a school with a 10 point scale and then I went to a high school with a 10 point scale my freshman year then I moved back to CMCSS. School was much easier and stress free because of the 10 point scale at my freshman high school, but since I've been back I've had to work much harder to achieve and keep the same grades. I just think it would be much easier for students that struggle with school. It has it' s pro's and it has it's con's. I hope it gets approved. Thanks for the support!!!!
