Policies say nothing about both students being punished

Upon researching TN code and the student handbook, it does not state anywhere that both students involved in altercation are to be punished. The schools are making up their own policies. I am including a picture of TN code 49-6-3401 so you can see what it says. I’m sure student handbooks are the same through Hamblen County. I couldn’t put up 2 pics so you can refer to handbooks. The policy states that the aggressor will receive discipline. We have got to get a law into place that will protect our kids. They can’t keep being punished for not fighting and just being involved in an altercation. Encourage your spouses, parents and friends to sign and help us get this accomplished. Keep sharing on Facebook or any social media platform you may use. I will be at the commission meeting Thursday evening regardless of the number of signatures we have. Feel free to come if you like. Their website states you can only speak for 3 minutes. I’m assuming the next person can speak even if it’s regarding the same thing.
