It has been a while since I've updated. Jimmy was released from jail at the end of last year after having served about 21 months. Within a week of being out, his cousin who lived in Arizona offered for him to come there. Kind of like a new start at life where he didn't know anyone. It was also for him to be around his cousin. They've always been close. Together, they moved back home to Knoxville in April. Jimmy started school to be a pipe fitter in May. It is a year program. He absolutely loves it. He is living at home with us until he graduates. He has a whole new lease on life. Jimmy and I are closer today than we have ever been. We are together every day.

I was recently contacted by a journalist at a large Tennessee news paper about our story. He came across this petition and wanted to know more. I spoke to him this morning for over an hour. Jimmy also spoke with him for a while.

When I started this petition it was about drug addicts who were in jail deserving treatment if they want it. In the 21 months that Jimmy was incarcerated, he got an hr or so class weekly for 6 weeks. I'm going to continue to work towards this. My son has quite a story to tell. Who knows, we may do more of that too.
