Hello everyone
The fourth printing of Moments in time: Stories of Waverly and Erie Beach is now available. Inside you will find personal stories about the area as well as historical photos that highlight the heydays of the Erie Beach Amusement Park and the ruins that remain as a testament to this era. There are also pictures of the natural beauty that makes this place so special. In addition, there are photos of the construction of this portion of the Friendship Trail, as well as the incredible destruction it has suffered as a result of the recent Halloween storm. Thank you to everyone who has bought a copy to support our efforts.
Copies are available for sale for $15. through members of Community Voices of Fort Erie, Inc. or by emailing waverlymoments@gmail.com.
I'm reading a book called Death at Snake Hill by Paul Litt, Ronald F. Williamson and Joseph W.A. Whitehorne. You may find it of interest especially if you are new to this area. Here is an excerpt from the Foreward by Dorothy Duncan the Chair of the Ontario Heritage Foundation, "Death at Snake Hill is also an illuminating case study, in which heritage concerns can be seen in their broader political and economic context."
