Dear Supporters,

We have received an update from Optum doubling down on their decision to limit access to in-person eating disorder treatment, citing vague, "market conditions." If you are personally impacted by these treatment facility closures, please considering writing to the office of Optum President Heather Cianfrocco <Heather.Cianfrocco [at] optum.com>.

Dear Christine McDow,

I am writing in response to your email to Heather Cianfrocco on February 16, 2024, regarding Refresh Mental Health facility closures. I would like to thank you for taking the time to contact Optum. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to your inquiry.

Refresh Mental Health is continuously reviewing our services and operations to ensure they serve the needs of our clients, communities, and business. In response to local market conditions, we have made the decision to close these facilities. Clinical leadership is working with site clinicians and staff to notify patients and support a smooth transition of care. Behavioral care is a core part of our care model, and we continue to grow our network of behavioral health providers and the number of patients we serve year over year. We remain focused on increasing access to behavioral services as vital to deliver holistic, high-quality care and to advancing the integration of physical and behavioral health across our service to deliver more comprehensive, whole-person care.

Sincerely,
