In our campaign against the Saudi dictator, here are three lessons I've learned:

  1. The greater the criticism faced by a wealthy dictator, the greater the likelihood that the dictator will seek new public relations strategies to rebuild their legitimacy.
  2. But in doing so, the offending government makes itself even more publicly vulnerable to the very delegitimization that it fears.
  3. If we want the U.S. to say goodbye to the Saudi monarchy, we should invest in campaigns that enable the global public to lead the way.
