Petition updateUNESCO: Stop Working With Saudi SpiesTalk is Cheap.

UNESCO leaders are now trying to talk their way out of being blamed for their partnership with Saudi Arabia's dictator.

According to IPS News, UNESCO spokesman Matthieu Guevel said that the UN agency is “currently re-evaluating its partnership strategy.”

That's propaganda-speak for "we might back away, but we aren't committing to anything yet."

When official spokespeople start squirming, that means you and I are doing something right.

Unfortunately, the Saudi dictatorship is also working hard to whitewash its crimes by deepening its ties to UNESCO.

The same IPS News article by James Reinl reports that the Saudi dictator has won an election to UNESCO's executive board.

So now, not only is UNESCO director general Audrey Azoulay partnered with the Saudi dictator's personal charity, but the Saudi dictator and his representatives sit on her governing board.

Unfortunately for the dictator, the old ways of promoting their reputation just won't work anymore. Now global activists like you and I have the ability to hold dictators and their enablers directly accountable.
