With many thanks to everyone for your support, we are thrilled to announce that Keith at Ambrosia Bakery and Public Works in San Francisco found a solution for two over-pruned trees. Instead of a ~$4,500 fine, Keith has applied for a $434 permit to remove the trees, including the one that is only 12' from the stop sign (per regulations, trees must be at least 25'). In order to replace the two over-pruned trees, and with thanks to our District 7 Supervisor, the Lakeside Village community credited to Ambrosia 2 of 7 new trees planned through a 2019-2020 Participatory Budgeting grant (implementation is in progress). One tree will be in front of the Bakery in the tree basin 25' from the stop sign, the other tree will be in a suitable location on Ocean nearby. And Keith will join the other business owner volunteers who will be watering new street trees outside their buildings to get them established. Thank you to Public Works for finding a solution with Keith. Thank you to the ~5,800 people who signed the online and paper petitions. Your support means a lot to Keith.
