Thank you everyone for your support on this petition, every action goes a long way in protecting families across the state. We have received over a hundred signatures in just 12 hours, but let’s keep the momentum going. Share this wherever you can, social media, to friends and family, whatever you can do would help immensely! We need to reach as many signatures as we can to gain the attention of the Queensland Government and journalists.

Here are some other free ways you can help:

Contacting your local MP, the Premier, and the Health Minister

Contacting members of the government is an amazing way to get your voice heard. You can find contact details of your local MP here. Additionally, the contact details of the Queensland Premier and Health Minister are below:

Timothy Nicholls (Minister for Health and Ambulance Services)

Phone: (07) 3035 6100

Email: health@ministerial.qld.gov.au

More information here.

David Crisafulli (Queensland Premier)

Phone: (07) 3719 7000

More information here.

National Day of Action

The Trans Justice Project has organised a National Day of Action with the aim of protecting trans kids across Australia. There will be rallies held in major cities across the country, including one in Brisbane. This will be happening on Saturday the 8th of February. You can find more information or your local rally here.

Most Importantly, Take Care of Yourself

This is a difficult time for trans people, their families and their friends. It’s okay to switch off and ignore what’s going on, I can promise you that activists across the state, who are in the right headspace, will continue this fight no matter what. Additionally, if you are getting involved be sure to protect yourself, stay safe, and take care of those around you. There is an extremely small, yet loud group of anti-trans individuals who may be aggressive or abusive. There are also so many kids and teens forced to fight for their rights right now, including myself, it’s stressful and deeply personal, so please be patient with us.
