All those on frozen pensions are campaigning for the Triple Lock increases to be applied to their pensions, so the attitudes of the UK parties to the Lock are crucial to them!
Following public and private pressure from Silver Voices, Reform UK has come off the fence and committed to the Triple Lock for the whole of the next Parliament, the first major party to do so. We will now turn our attention to the other major parties, starting with the Greens. The Greens went into the last election with a policy of diluting the Triple Lock, changing it to a 'double lock' which would weaken the safeguard significantly.
Remember Silver Voices is the only organisation campaigning effectively for older people on the cost of living. The charities and the rest wring their hands but do nothing to tackle politicians.
