Oh happy day :))

WOW Walker this afternoon responded to the Minister’s draft decision to reject its 3,600 unit 200-berth marina proposal by withdrawing its application. 

Better still, Australia’s Environment Minister, the Hon. Tanya Plibersek, today confirmed she has rejected the proposal. Thank you Minister.

While we’ve saved the bay for now, we must remain vigilant in case Walker resurfaces with another proposal.

We will also to have to stop the scheme’s number one sales team the Queensland Government from doing this again - revoke the PDA today! 

But for now let’s celebrate this magic people-powered moment.

Thank you for your passion and determination. Together we’ve respected Ramsar and saved the homes of 10 threatened species. 

Woohoo wetlanders, how good is it we can welcome the shorebirds home again :))
