Petition updateReject money from private prison corporations that take children from immigrant families.Trump Advisors Resign over Private Prisons & Immigration Policies
Lori SaldañaUnited States
Jul 18, 2018 — UPDATE: Even Donald Trump's own Homeland Security advisors are realizing how horrible these private child immigrant detention facilities & family separation policies are. According to a July 17 news report: "Several members of the Homeland Security Advisory Council reportedly resigned over the Trump administration’s controversial immigration policies. “Were we consulted, we would have observed that routinely taking children from migrant parents was morally repugnant, counter-productive and ill-considered," the group wrote in the letter obtained by the Post. "We cannot tolerate association with the immigration policies of this administration, nor the illusion that we are consulted on these matters.” (from: http://thehill.com/homenews/news/397453-homeland-security-advisory-council-members-resign-over-family-separations) HELP US REACH 500 SIGNATURES & KEEP THE PRESSURE ON to close these detention facilities in San Diego and throughout California. Call for ending corporate prison contributions to elected officials. No one should profit from child abuse. KEEP SHARING this petition, and encourage others to sign. Thank you!
