First, thank you so very much to all of the recent signers of this important petition. President Biden needs to hear from all of us about the importance of using his executive authority to help alleviate the massive food insecurity caused by the recent SNAP benefit reduction to low-income disabled persons and their care-giving families. Your signature on this petition and sharing it on your social media helps send that important message! The good news is that we’ve already gathered more than 250 signatures! But we still have a long way to go…

Because there are a different set of solutions available at the state level. I’ve created the 2nd petition to ask Washington’s Governor, Jay Inslee, to take action to re-purpose a portion of the state’s projected $14.7 billion budget surplus to replace those benefits. To date, the governor and state legislature have been content to sit on the sidelines regarding this issue, and they need to be aware that the public is watching! Here is a link to that petition.
