VOTE SCHEDULED: Two Weeks to Win!

On Thursday evening, County Council introduced the LERTA resolution to grant a tax benefit to the Dixie Cup warehouse redevelopment. The resolution has two sponsors, Councilmembers John Cusick (District 3) and John Brown (At-Large). Council Vice President, Councilmember Kerry Myers (District 2), announced the resolution would be debated and potentially voted on in two weeks, at their August 4th meeting.
We have less than two weeks to engage our neighbors, spread the word, and urge County Council to vote down the LERTA resolution!
There are two key ways you can continue to help:
- Contact your councilmembers directly: Each member of the County Council answers to their constituents. Call or email them to tell them that we do not need another warehouse in the Lehigh Valley and we don't need to be offering a tax benefit for one. They should vote "NO" on the LERTA proposal. If you don't know who your councilmember is, you can check this map.
- Keep spreading the word: Keep sharing this petition with your friends, family, and neighbors! The more petition signatures we can get before August 4th, the more powerful our message will be to County Council! (If you're telling your friends in person, I made a new URL for the petition: https://www.change.org/NoDixieCupLERTA
If you're interested in speaking at Council on August 4th or want to help with in-person outreach, send me an email: achapelliquen@gmail.com.
Thanks for your continued support!
