George Mason University is in the process of updating their website to reflect that Covid vaccines and boosters are now recommended, but not required.

Earlier today, two things happened that likely prompted this change. 

1. An official advisory opinion from the Virginia Attorney General held that GMU's mandates were illegal. 

2. Lawyers with the New Civil Liberties Alliance, representing myself and another GMU student, sent a demand letter to GMU leadership asking them to rescind the mandate or face legal action. 

GMU has yet to formally announce the change, so please share this with any student who would be interested in this information. The knowledge that many students would be coerced against their will to take an unnecessary booster shot was a large part of why I was willing to face expulsion to oppose this. I know many students were waiting until the February 15th deadline to act, so if you know anyone in that situation, please let them know ASAP that the mandates are no more!
