Petition updateRepeal George Mason University's Vaccine Booster MandateThe booster mandate only applies to students now

Yesterday, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin signed an Executive Order to "restore individual freedoms and personal privacy" to all state government employees, including those at public universities.

The Order declares that no state employee "shall be required to be vaccinated or required to disclose their vaccination status as a condition of their employment."

This means that GMU's booster mandate is officially dead, at least as it applies to employees. The mandate still applies to students, however, so we will continue to push for its repeal.

A student-only mandate cannot be justified on any rational basis. I encourage everyone to contact the relevant decisionmakers once more in light of this announcement to let them know you oppose the booster mandate.
