Overwhelming Support - Keep Sharing!

The coalition of concerned citizens responsible for this petition is heartened and encouraged by the support of the Stowe community. We have been having important discussions about free speech while underlining the fact that our public school should remain a bastion of safe space committed to public safety and public health. Please keep sharing! So far we have not heard anything from the event organizer about his intentions to move the event or provide adequate security. On and offline, it is quite clear this event is detested by the majority of the community (even if you believe that they should be able to use the school). We have received a couple comments from signers voicing their opposition to our petition. We decided this is not the appropriate platform for these folks, and would encourage them to voice their opinions to their local media. Comments that are inflammatory or harassing in any way will be forwarded to the Stowe police department. To those who want their voice heard but fear being targeted: I encourage you to share your thoughts under a pseudonym if that makes you feel more comfortable.
