After a productive meeting today with eBay officials, we are very pleased to report that the listing for the Manzanar drawings has been closed due to being a violation of the eBay Artifacts Policy. We wish to thank eBay for their swift and thoughtful resolution with representatives from the Japanese American community on this issue. We look forward to continuing the work with eBay to ensure future situations like this do not reoccur involving any of the WWII incarceration sites of Japanese Americans. We continue to hope for an opportunity to work with the seller on a mutually agreeable plan to return these objects back to the family from where they originated. Our thanks to everyone who signed and shared our petition and volunteered for this effort. Objects of oppression shouldn’t be monetized. If you find objects made in the Incarceration camps - think of the families of survivors who lost so much.
